Half of what happens here is somebody discovering a coin they want to keep. The other half is somebody deciding what to do with coins already in a drawer, a safe or a box left behind. Both conversations get the same patience.

Fifty years in the same valley
Conejo Valley Stamp & Coin opened in 1975 and has been part of local life ever since — the shop people were sent to by a neighbour, a parent or a coworker who said simply, ask them, they will explain it to you.
That reputation was built slowly, through ordinary transactions handled honestly: answering the beginner’s question as carefully as the specialist’s, taking the time to show what makes one coin different from another, and letting people leave without buying or selling anything at all.
The shop is under new ownership today, and that standard is the part we most want to keep.

Inherited a collection
You do not have to know what any of it is
Most people who bring in an inherited collection arrive apologising for how it is organised. There is no need. Albums, envelopes, loose change, handwritten notes — bring it as it is, and keep it together.
We will walk through it with you, separate the ordinary from the interesting and explain what we are looking at as we go. Nothing has to be decided that day.

Byron, of Mount Pleasant Coins, has taken over the shop following the retirement of its previous owner, who served this community for many years. The name stays, the address stays, and so does the habit of explaining things clearly and leaving people free to decide in their own time.
